Hi, I’m Bob. I’ve lived in Gangnam, Seoul, for over 30 years, and I still call it home.
Most Gangnam food guides are written by visitors passing through. This one isn’t. The places you’ll find here are the ones I actually go back to: the soup spot I’ve been visiting for years, the lunch places locals line up for, and the neighborhood joints that never show up on tourist lists.
Why “Leo Papa Bob”?
Leo is my son, which makes me Leo’s papa. And “Bob” isn’t just my name here. In Korean, bap (밥) means rice, or simply “a meal,” and it sounds almost exactly like Bob. So this blog is Leo’s papa, Bob, sharing his favorite bap.
What you’ll find here
- Honest reviews of places I’ve been eating at for years
- What to order, and how to eat it
- Practical tips for visitors: reservations, waiting lines, kiosks, and ordering without speaking Korean
